Our Mission
Supporting active, reserve, and veteran Marines in the Illinois community.
Who We Are
The Marine Corps Coordinating Council of Illinois is the only Marine-specific, Illinois-specific, state-backed nonprofit dedicated to connecting Marines with resources, community, and support.
We serve as the coordination driver for Marine Corps active duty, reserve, and veteran entities across Illinois — providing administrative, financial, and logistical support as required. We collect and distribute information between Marines and Marine organizations operating throughout the state.
Backed by the Illinois Marine Corps License Plate Program, we fund scholarships, emergency assistance, youth programs, and events for Marines and their families across the state.
MCCCIL is a full member of the National Marine Corps Council (NMCC) — the Commandant's forum for Marine Corps veteran organizations nationwide. The MCCC concept originated in the 1990s under General Charles C. Krulak, 31st Commandant of the Marine Corps, who envisioned community-based councils that would coordinate support for Marines at the local level. Today, coordinating councils operate in states across the country. Read our full story or explore the national network.
